Spanish term
Tipo de Actuación
I'm new here!
I'm translating a birth certificate from Venezuela and it the page of certification of the document, after the Apostille, I'm stock on this part: Tipo de Actuación: Acta de Nacimiento.
My attempt is Type of Document: Birth Certificate , but I'm not sure if "actuación" would have a specific translation as a legal term.
Thanks so much for your help!

Proposed translations
type of procedure / type of document
You can translate “actuación” as proceedings, procedure or procedural step or stage, depending on the context.
As I understand it, “tipo de actuación” refers to the type of procedure or authentication required, but they [employees at the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs] always indicate the type or name of the document submitted for authentication.
I would say that “type of procedure” and “type of document” are equally valid.
