Hi all,
This is from a hospital in Madrid, Spain (Hospital Universitario, Puerta de Hierro, Majadahonda). I'll post two questions, although the two terms seem to be closely linked.
It starts with a table that contains the following info:
"Comentario Aux Hos"
and the "Aux Hos" comment is that the patient was taken to the surgical area, afebrile, the preoperative protocol was carried out by the previous shift and they will not be returning to the unit, so the room was cleaned and prepared for the next admission.
The next table is headed by:
"Comentario Enf Hos"
This contains a lot more info such as the haemodynamics, the patient's physical specs, procedural details (mitral clip), history, medication, etc.
My best guess is "hospital auxiliary" and "nursing department" - any insights?

Las funciones de los auxiliares de enfermería son equivalentes a las de los nurse assistant -aunque existen diferencias en función de los países. Aux Enf se refiere sin duda a auxiliar de enfermería. Enf Hos parece alusión a enfermera hospitalaria, eso es, a un profesional y no a un servicio, departamento o unidad.

Mis disculpas por el salto en el razonamiento, Neil. Hos, igual que en Enf Hos, parece aludir a hospitalización, en tanto que personal relacionado con hospitalización. Aux Hos sería alusión al auxiliar (de enfermería) de planta (hospitalización). Las notas a las que haces referencia en el texto original son funciones básicas del auxiliar de enfermería. No tengo ninguna duda en relación al sentido de Aux Hos como referido a Auxiliar de Enfermería de Planta (Hospitalización). En cuanto a la mejor expresión en inglés, creo que nurse assistant resulta ajustado, pero ahí mi seguridad es menor. Igual con cómo expresar la referencia a "comentario" (nota clínica, anotación en historia clínica).
