The following appears in a pathology report for a cystoprostectomy:

Se toman muestras representativas. Bloques: 1 ER de uretra; 2 ER de uréter derecho; 3 ER de uréter izquierdo ...

In diagnosis section:

Como uréter terminal izquierdo, se recibe un segmento cilíndrico de 1 mm de longitud y 5 mm de diámetro. Inclusión en un bloque.

Como uréter terminal derecho, se recibe un segmento cilíndrico de 5 mm de longitud y 4 mm de diámetro. Inclusión en un bloque.

I have not come across the abbreviation/acronym "ER" in this context before. Can anyone advise me on this?
