a type of infected pressure ulcers disease
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/pressure-sores/
Pressure ulcers (also known as pressure sores or bedsores) are injuries to the skin and underlying tissue, primarily caused by prolonged pressure on the skin.
They can happen to anyone, but usually affect people confined to bed or who sit in a chair or wheelchair for long periods of time.

Osteomyelitis can present as a poorly healing wound with or without systemic manifestations, such as fever, leukocytosis, and other signs of sepsis. In contrast, bacteremia due to infected pressure ulcers usually presents with signs of a systemic inflammatory response, including fever, chills, confusion, and hypotension, and the mortality rate among patients with bacteremia due to infected pressure ulcers approaches 50%
