| Mir ist natürlich klar, dass Inhalt = Gehalt. Das ist genau mein Problem mit dem Begriff Inhaltsstoffgehalt. Man kann ja schlecht "content content" sagen. Ich glaube allerding nicht, dass ingredients hier passt, da es sich um Nährstoffgehalt bzw. Energiegehalt handelt. |

Inhaltsstoffe ARE the nutrients, especially with animal feed. Grains, proteins, milk products... You could also use nutritional content

As far as I know (please correct me if I'm wrong), 'balanced' in this case would mean that the mix contains individual components in a certain ratio; i.e., the Mg/Ca ratio (or others) would have to be exactly right for lactation.

Yet what's meant here, I think, is that the ratios of the individual components are more or less the same in all of the mixtures; i.e, relatively constant as you compare the mixtures. Please yell if I'm incorrect.
