You have a little bit of a buffer

We have a traffic jam. This picture, we have an 80% load. There's a little bit of room between the cars. There's room for error. If a driver makes an error, that's fine. You have a little bit of a buffer and we still get a lot more cars coming through every day.
Muchas gracias!

margen de maniobra/error o zona de seguridad
The text is saying that in the image there's a little bit of space between cars, so the folding machine can pass between them and if a car makes a mistake it will not hit the machine.

: Buffer is not being used in the literal sense of suspension or something that absorbs impact. I'm not sure if "amortiguación" can be used metaphorically in Spanish for this context; if so, I agree with your suggestion. If not, well I don't agree ;@)
