Because of the context. If the text is for a magazine article 'cloudiness' could certainly work, but if it's a more technical text then it's best to use the standard production term.

Debido a que el proceso de destilación del licor de Orujo es con arrastre de vapor a baja presión, se origina excesiva "niebla" que es nada menos que vapor . Esas calderas trabajan a 85 grados cent. , aprox y el alcohol evapora a 78 grados, entonces se forma "niebla". Cuando bajas la temperatura de 85 a -8, (me supongo que la Temp. es -8 grados centígrados), siempre el primer filtrado se debe realizar con la temperatura mas baja. Son reglas de operación. Así es la forma en que se suele fabricarse estos lores de licores, por batch.
