Note from asker:

Prijevod je Master of Painting.

formally/academically trained artist/painter

Duncanson's artistic career had several phases which lead him to travel both the country and the world for the pursuit of his art. Because he was not a formally trained artist, he honed his skills copying prints and painting portraits. In 1842 Duncanson had three portraits ("Fancy Portrait," "Infant Savior, a copy," and "Miser") accepted to the last exhibition hosted by the Society for the Promotion of Useful Knowledge which had succeeded the Cincinnati Academy of Fine Arts.

graduated academic painter

Peer comment(s):

disagree Nick Saywell : Sorry but this is just a literal translation that does not mean the same in English. "Academic painter" is used to mean a painter in the academy style, not someone who has trained in an academy.

master painter

Direct translation is a bit weird and is not really used in practice, in UK you usually have BA and MA studies in fine art, which include painting, drawing and sculpture, so either bachelor of fine art or master of fine art (masters is equivalent to specialization at academy).
Peer comment(s):
