أما كلمة تاجر فلا نستطيع استخدامها هنا حيث إنه ليس كل رجل أعمال تاجر، لأنه جرى العرف على استخدام كلمة تاجر لمن يقوم بعمليات البيع والشراء.

مصطلح "رجل أعمال" أشمل وأعم من "تاجر"، بمعنى، "تاجر" قد يندرج تحت تصنيف "رجل أعمال" والعكس غير صحيح.

: for 'a businessman' (indefinite), رجل أعمال . You can argue your point all you like, and you might be right, but this is simply the universally used term.

Discussion
someone might not be directly involved in buying or selling, which is part of the business, say in a dept. of a big company, dealing with advertising/marketing .... however, we still call him a businessman.
