English term

notional context of time

English to Italian Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
Much of Martin’s work feels like a willed adjustment to time’s inviolable constraints. What’s The Time? (2008), for example, proposes an inward model of measurement. A looped sound work, it features a sparse dialogue between a man – Martin – and a woman. She’s very insistent: “What’s the time?” she asks, her voice faintly fringed with anxiety. But he’s insistent too, and even more laconic. “Shhh,” he says in reply. And, shortly after, they commence again with the same seesawing exchange, tied to time and out of it – an invisible Vladimir and Estragon on an invisible roadside, concealed behind the baffles of modest white loudspeakers. There is nothing else to see.
Or, rather, there is much else to see, and it is perhaps only now that we can see it. Emphasised by What’s the Time?, in the absence of the visible and in the notional context of time, is all one doesn’t usually notice when focused down on the artwork in the (relatively timeless) phenomenological register of art reception.

la seconda proposta magari sembra troppo complicata ma in realtà è quella che mi sembra più aderente al significato del testo (e che testo! difficile... :)

"For the CTF portion of the demonstration, CWID provides a framework that facilitates interoperability trials through a full range of military operations conducted by U.S. and coalition forces. CTF operations are set in a notional context and involve fictitious countries."
