English term

CC.RR. barracks

English to Italian Other Military / Defense History: WWII
from a report on German war crimes committed in Italy during WWII:

A group of German soldiers went to the Monti family which is composed of the two brothers Francesco, 52 years od, owner of the ***CC.RR. barracks***, Paolo 50 years old, his wife 43 years of age, and nephew aged 8.

no more context on ***CC.RR.***

I don't know if it's an English/American or an Italian acronym. In Italian I found "Carabinieri Reali", but does that make sense?

TIA

Discussion

Marco Solinas Feb 6, 2011:
It makes sense It makes sense that CC. RR. stands for the carabinieri. They often had their post in rented premises.
