Testo originale:
"«Jacob told Rachel that he was her father's brother, and that he was Rebekah's son» (Genesis 29:12). Here is a case of a man introducing himself to a woman. It is a good example for those seeking dates. The introduction is a humble, informative, and respectful introduction. The introduction would tell the girl that this man is not a bad man. He who speaks well of his own mother and of the girl's father has his character cap on straight. Too often in our day, however, the mothers and fathers cannot be spoken well of because they are a bunch of tramps. But ***character will respect that which is respectful***, and those dating need to be alert for this trait in those they date. Disrespectful people make difficult marriage partners and necessitate a lot of damage control to preserve any marriage of which they are a part."

Discussion
Ma prima di tradurre, bisogna pensare a quale accezione del termine scegliere, tralasciando quelle più banali (carattere, natura, temperamento, indole), trovo: 1) (= good name) buon nome, reputazione 2)(= moral strength) forte personalità, fibra, carattere
