Italiano term

piano ravvicinato

Da Italiano a Inglese Arte/Letteratura Cinema, Film, TV, Teatro comic strips
A text on comic strips:

I would translate "piano ravvicinato" with "close-up", but then how do I differentiate between "piano ravvicinato" and "primo piano"? Thanks for any help.

Discussion

Oliver Walter Jan 15, 2006:
This isn't really an answer but might suggest something useful: Perhaps something involving "near plane" and "far plane" and other planes of various degrees of "nearness".

medium shot

I would use medium shot for piano ravvicinato and close up for primo piano.
The sequence here starts with a long shot (un totale) and ends with close-ups (primi piani). A piano ravvicinato would be a medium shot, normally from waist up.
