Italian term

pubblica esecuzione

Italian to English Law/Patents Cinema, Film, TV, Drama
An article of a legal contract speaks about how the profits/expenses (this is puzzling me as well as it is not specified) of the co-edition of a film are divided up between the two companies involved. I do not understand what "pubblica esecuzione" refers to here.

La coedizione, in parti uguali, per tutto il mondo e per l'intera durata di protezione dell'Opera, sarà divisa secondo la seguente ripartizione:

pubblica esecuzione:

- 12/24 (dodici/ventiquattresimi), di cui:
- 6/24 (sei/ventiquattresimi) a XXX e
- 6/24 (sei/ventiquattresimi)a ZZZ;

neutral James (Jim) Davis : They talk about public "performance" for films in copyright law http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_Picture_Licensing_Corpor...

I’ve seen actors performing in a theatre stage, but I’ve never seen them performing on a film set (studio or otherwise), though often I see their performances, when their films are screened.
neutral Jim Tucker (X) : w/ Jim / The point is that "performance" is the proper technical term -- what we say in everyday speech is irrelevant.
