So the doctor will write down or record the patient's medical history. What are 'dati anamnestici' in this context? I'm confused about this translation because 'anamnesis' to me is just another way to say 'medical history' and it looks like we're going around in circles.

Perhaps "case history" could fit better, being the list of pathology cases.

: I would avoid anamnesis at all costs. We had a debate about this before. I have never seen anamnesis in any UK English medical document that I have dealt with.

The doc will record the patient medical history (of course these are data!) and you do not need to put anything in parentheses.
Plus, "anamnesis" is not used in clinical English.
