Platone (bla bla bla)

agree James (Jim) Davis : With "paper and printing". Ermm, yes, Gutenberg's name is mentioned in school history lessons as far afield as the shores of northern Isles and who knows, maybe even further

neutral James (Jim) Davis : The era of pen and ink predates that of printing by centuries or more. Plato lived in an era of pen and ink, but not printing, while Locke's work got printed. Printing changed the way the world thought very rapidly. But point taken.

True! But not necessarily relevant in such a philosophical discourse (that's for the asker to decide, naturally) - mine is obviously more a liberal interpretation than a literal translation.//Your point taken too - perhaps it is indeed relevant.

I believe "era" reflects more accurately the period in which carte and stampe where used.
