I am working on a translation about leather and I am unsure whether it is correct to use abrasivato in English. I also found the sentence "lavorato ad abrasivato" which should be the process to make the leather abrasivato.

Articolo appartenente alla famiglia degli abrasivati. Una volta tinto il pellame e lavorato ad abrasivato, viene applicata una stampa enbossed che riproduce il caratteristico microfiore del vitello. In finale viene applicato un sovracolore, di colore sempre nero, il quale una volta spazzolato va a creare un sapore college artigianale chiaro/scuro.

It appears to be a process that gives a highly polished finish. A lot of the hits for "abraded leather" are translations.
