Italian term

ospitalità diffusa

Italian to English Social Sciences Tourism & Travel accommodation
I imagine a term for this has been invented but I've not come across it and been unable to find it in dictionaries and searches.

Context: è un gruppo di XXXX che crede nelle risorse turistiche del territorio offrendo ospitalità diffusa nelle varie strutture ricettive associate. Si tratta di ben 15 strutture, 72 camere, 214 posti letto fra agriturismo e turismo rurale, B&B, Casa Vacanze.

Raffaella Luciani Mar 7, 2015:
"ospitalità diffusa nelle varie strutture ricettive associate": "Diffusa" clarifies that "strutture ricettive associate" (associated welcome centers/facilities, or in-network welcome centers/facilities) provide the best hospitality. "Diffusa" (as in "broad" or "large-scale") because it consists in 15 facilities, 214 beds, etc.....
Anthony Green (asker) Mar 4, 2015:
Hmm That's why I put in the link, as it does seem to be a concept, which I have also heard around the place in Southern Italy on several occasions (and I remember being asked how to say it in English and being at a loss!). Now there is no real way to wriggle out of it!
philgoddard Mar 4, 2015:
Anthony I think you're misparsing the sentence. "Ospitalità diffusa" isn't really a phrase - it just means literally "hospitality distributed among the various member establishments".

Ospitalità diffusa nelle varie strutture ricettive =
A wide range of hospitality options
Or anything along those lines.
Note from asker:
thanks Phil - I agree that a paraphrase may be the only way to go, though I find it hard to believe that something similar hasn't been set up in Anglo-Saxon countries

accommodation (options)

I know I'm a bit late to the party but I really don't think we would use the word hospitality in English. It's just talking about places to stay. "Ospitalità diffusa" is a concept, as shown by your Google search, but I don't think that's what they're referring to here.

agree writeaway : Accommodation does fit really well. Makes sense in the context.

neutral philgoddard : Of course we use the word hospitality! It has a more welcoming, less functional sound than accommodation. The Italian has deliberately chosen this word rather than "alloggio", and the translation should reflect that.

I obviously didn't mean we never use the word hospitality in English, just that I personally wouldn't use it here.

They might not be for this question specifically, but for the concept of 'diffuso' the asker has had issues with before today.
