Italian term

cassa turnante

Italian to English Bus/Financial Tourism & Travel employment
This relates to certain positions within the hotel industry. One of these is 'Segretario Ricevimento e Cassa Turnante.

I am guessing the first part is Receptionist and wonder if 'Cassa Turnante' means 'Duty Cashier' or something similar.

TIA for any help for the correct phrase in English.

this is the best answer but i cannot find a way to award points! Sorry Russell
Russell Jones Oct 16, 2016:
I may be wrong, but I would read "turnante" as applying to "segretario", not "cassa", so: duty receptionist and cashier.

till shift worker

turnante can mean that one works shifts at the till in this case-so not employed all the time at the till/cash desk but covers some shifts

Reception and cash desk shift worker
I guess, as in most hotels, there are several shifts so that the reception area is always covered by someone even at night
