Подскажите пожалуйста, как стоит перевести эти два слова: рубрика и подрубрика (для научно-практического журнала)
что-то кроме column есть еще?
и как в таком случае будет второе слово, сильно смущает subcolumn. TIA

heading/subheading isn't it more like zagolovok and podzgolovok? I'm now more inclined to use the words section and subsection. Because it's a media-kit proofreading that i'm doing and the text is smth like: this (section/heading) features bla-bla, i guess "heading" doesn't fit in the context.

I agree that "section" and "subsection" are common in legal documents and books, but I think for the purpose of a scientific journal they can be very good.
First, Meriam's dictionary says 'section' can be used for newspapers.
Second, for example, you cannot say "This heading will highlight the issues..." (В этом разделе будут рассматриваться вопросы...), because 'heading' is 'a title at the head of a page or section of a book.', ant not the content of it. Compare with the example I posted below, where 'subsection' is used.
