Возможно. Я честно его искала, но не нашла. В основном попадаются фразы типа приведенных выше (на английском).

Я думаю, есть специальный термин на английском языке, означающий переход от одной стадии развития к другой, характеризуемый приведенными признаками.

"open lids"

or "open eyelids" since there's no Период in your original text.
Even if it was there, then "by the time..." as Victoria has correctly proposed)
E.g.: Once the lids have unsealed, it takes 2 to 3 days for them to open fully...
Example sentence:

It takes a few days for them to develop enough to open their lids without ... ... The kittens' eyelids form a protective seal until outer eye development is complete
