The only option "reparada" might have been used here, is that it is an old specimen and has been treated with some chemicals to restore broken DNA in order to make new DNA tests. That's my guess.

I just checked... It says "reparada". Google has only one hit on "reparada y orientada". I'll ask my client.

Are you sure it's 'reparada"?? Sounds really weird (I worked on a genetic lab for several years and never heard that!) "repaired"?? IMaybe is a typo? or the P is missing. We usually say "el tejido se Preparó y se fijó en parafina/formalina"...

What is the real text? "PREPARADA Y ORIENTADA" or "RECUPERADA Y ORIENTADA"??? I bet it's the first expression, is the usual in Spanish.
