Hi Jessica et al,
The form requires us to sign in with a Google account, thereby identifying ourselves at least partly. Also, I don't have a Google account and do not intend to open one - can you see what can be done so as not to exclude potential contributors nor contradict the terms on which they agree to take part? | | | I don't really know ... | Oct 18, 2024 |
... what this question means:
"Does having experience in a certain kind of text make you consider more potential translations than before?" | | |
Hello Victoria,
Thank you for taking your time to bring this to our attention, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. The form is updated, and should now work without requiring sign-in. Thank you in advance for your participation - your response is invaluable.
Best regards,
Taufik, Kaye & Jassica | |

Thank you for taking the time to look at our questionnaire, and we apologize if the wording for that specific question is unclear. Now that we look at it, we realize that it can indeed be a little confusing.
What we wanted to ask is: "after gaining more experience translating a certain type of text, do you find yourself recognizing and considering more possible ways to translate specific ideas or expressions?" We are interested in exploring Otto Kade's concept of "optional equivalence," and see if familiarity with specific types of text enhanced translators' ability to recognize a broader range of valid translation options for the same idea.
We hope this explanation clarifies things. Once again, thank you for your time - you response is invaluable to us.
Best,
