Sounds òlike it should be "ash deposits"
I've searched google for this but haven,t been able to find any documents where both language terms (IT and EN) and present.
Can anyone with geology/geography expèerience confirm this?

"Il prodotto di tali eruzioni viene denominato tephra. Questo termine include tutti i materiali lavici lanciati in aria e in parte solidificati come frammenti di varie dimensioni: blocchi (dimensioni superiori a 64 mm), lapilli (da 64 a 2 mm) e ceneri (inferiori a 2 mm). Questi frammenti, smistandosi nel tragitto aereo, formano depositi di aspetto stratificato in modo regolare.
