Poiché il pH c(H+)=c(oH- ), dalla formula precedente si ricava che la concentrazione degli ioni idrogeno nell’acqua è c(H+)=10-7. Il pH non è altro che l’esponente in base 10 di (H+) cambiato di segno.
This is the actual sentence - there's obviously something missing in the middle (before the full stop). I assume that the "poiche il" is superfluous and that it should read "Dal pH ... dElla formula precedente"
this takes me back to my schooldays - but I didn't do secondary school in Italy so not sure of the translation!

Lo scienziato di casa dice che dalla frase non sembra mancare nulla e che si tratta semplicemente della definizione del pH. La formula per il calcolo del pH è:
pH = -log c(H+)
tramite cui si ottiene l'esponente, cambiato di segno, della concentrazione di H+ (che è un numero molto piccolo ed espresso come 10^(-x)).

forse la forma grammaticale non è proprio elegante, ma il verbo è quello...vedi tu cosa va meglio con la tua formulazione del resto della tua frase :-)
