Looks like the author himseld doesn't like assertions all that much he he
rns Jul 29, 2010:
:) Actually, yes. Assertions rule!
Gene Selkov Jul 29, 2010:
Whatever it is, it is always better to simplify than de-complexify.
rns Jul 29, 2010:
To simplify, let us ... as a translation of — Чтобы не усложнять выкладки, поступим следующим образом: — sounds good, less traditional and more phys/eng than math, but still good. Or so I think. :)
Nik-On/Off (asker) Jul 29, 2010:
No it is not a proof.
Gene Selkov Jul 29, 2010:
what type of writing is that? Is it a proof? There is a bunch of ways to say that, but some may be more appropriate than others. "To simplify the proof (derivation)..."

Thank you, Andriy
neutral Jim Tucker (X) : never seen this as a formula // Asker wants a formulaic phrase, so you'd have to search for the whole thing. In any case, it doesn't look natural. To convince the asker, you should cite an example from a similar context. // Why not give one?

Well, I guess you could type "add complexity to" in a search engine and see over two million examples :) // Your point is well taken. I have a different opinion. There is a lot of examples in mathematical contexts available in the net. // *eyeroll*
