Translation - English New Camp Opens in Afghanistan
Ecolog AG’s new camp in Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan, began operations on October first after being under construction for only about two and a half months. With its area of 10,000 meters it offers comfortable lodging for up to 70 persons, European and local employees combined. If need be its capacity can be increased without difficulty. “Icing on the cake” is represented by the accommodations intended for up to ten VIP guests, who are guaranteed first class lodging during high-level visits.
The Ecolog camp’s laundry, with its ultra-modern equipment, is a model of its kind. Its initial set of 40 washing machines and 40 dryers, accompanied by three large-scale washing machines and two large-scale dryers, permits the laundry staff to handle any conceivable amount of washing. Currently 700 sacks of washing are washed, dried and hygienically packed each day. However, an increase in the number of machines is already planned.
The highest standards of hygiene are a matter of course in Ecolog camps. The laundry in Mazar-el-Sharif has separate washing and folding areas, thus strictly guaranteeing against any mingling of clean and dirty items. Each individual can be certain that he or she is receiving the best and most hygienic laundry service possible. Hospital laundry is handled separately, being washed in a physically separated area. A powerful ventilation system that expels from the building warm air from the dryers ensures a more pleasant temperature in the whole laundry.
The camp is also notable for its high storage capacity. Some 500,000 liters of diesel fuel are available here, thus minimizing the risk of fuel shortages.
But it is not just the Ecolog camp in Mazar-el-Sharif that is a showpiece. Camp Ecolog 2, which is located in the same area, and which can be expanded from 4,000 to 8,000 square meters, is currently being upgraded. The trash incinerator that is currently being constructed is to be joined shortly by a recycling facility. “The bottom line is that Ecolog AG has once again demonstrated that it is worth while investing in future-oriented projects. Our clients benefit, and we are able to make a meaningful contribution to environmental protection”, says Kaan Savul about Ecolog AG’s most recent activities.
