I am an intellectual disability nurse, with almost 25 years of experience as an environmental therapist. I have worked with cultural competence and guidance counseling. I am particularly interested in self development and life mastery. My professional interest for life mastery is reflected in my personal passion for the postwar Italian life philosophy called “L’arte dell’arrangiarsi”, which translates to “the art of getting by”; it means doing the best you can in a difficult situation, and having the ability to adapt to tough circumstances. This extends into a traditional way of cooking called “cucina povera”, or “poor people’s kitchen“, founded on the same principle: with dedication and experience you can make unforgettable meals out of a few simple ingredients. The “L’arte dell’arrangiarsi” inspires me to make the most out of every day and feel satisfied with what I have achieved. |
