Experienced Thai Medical Interpreter

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Thai Medical Interpreter to join our team. This role involves interpreting medical terminology and translating communication between Japanese-speaking patients and healthcare providers in a variety of medical settings. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Japanese and English and have experience in medical interpretation.

Responsibilities:

Provide accurate and clear interpretation of verbal communication between Thai-speaking patients and healthcare providers.
Assist in a variety of medical settings, including doctor’s offices, hospitals, clinics, and telehealth appointments.
Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards such as HIPAA.
Accurately interpret complex medical terminology in both languages.
Assist with translation of written documents and patient materials as needed.
Facilitate communication and ensure understanding between healthcare professionals and patients, ensuring cultural sensitivity.
Qualifications:

Fluency in Thai and English (both spoken and written) is required.
Proven experience in medical interpretation, certification in medical interpretation preferred (e.g., CCHI, NBCMI).
Strong knowledge of medical terminology in both languages.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in high-pressure situations and maintain professionalism.
Cultural competence and sensitivity when interacting with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with legal and ethical standards.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends (if necessary).
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working as a medical interpreter or in a healthcare setting.
Certification or accreditation in medical interpretation.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
