hi, I am going to set up a facebook account with a fictional surname and ask for donations for the cats in my shelter, since I can no longer support them from my translations revenues. See more hi, I am going to set up a facebook account with a fictional surname and ask for donations for the cats in my shelter, since I can no longer support them from my translations revenues. Please help me to figure out what this fictional surname could sound like to emphasize that the person concerned 1) lives in Ukraine 2) keeps a private shelter for homeless cats. I initially thought that something like "Comrade Felinsky" would be a great idea, but it looks like it could be mistaken for a real surname, since such does exist, and the last thing I would want is to be suspected of identity fraud. It must be obvious that the surname is a coinage. Catshelterinsky? Catlovinsky? Savefelinsky? Any other idea? ▲ Collapse | | | Mr. Satan (X) English to Indonesian Sorry, I'm confused | May 19, 2022 |
If you're concerned that "Felinsky" could be mistaken as a real surname, which may bring the accusation of identity fraud, what makes "Catshelterinsky", "Catlovinsky", and "Savefelinsky" any better? Anyway, I wish the best of luck to your fundraising campaign.

Because Felinsky is a real surname in Poland and in Ukraine, whereas I'm pretty sure there are no Catshelterinsky, Catlovinsky, Savefelinsky anywhere in the world. I really like Comrade Felinsky, although I see it more as a name for a big, red tomcat with huge whiskers. | | | Mr. Satan (X) English to Indonesian
I originally thought of it as using a pseudonym = fake identity = identity fraud. If I may criticize, "impersonating" would've been a better term to describe it. P.L.F. Comrade Felinsky | May 19, 2022 |
Everyone, including me, likes Comrade Felinsky most. Other versions I have found: Comrade Catlovsky and.... Catimir Purrin(!!!) | | | Jessica Noyes United States Local time: 23:40 Member Spanish to English + ... Group or Charity page | May 19, 2022 |
Can you make it, not a personal page, but rather the sort of page that charities have? Or a fan club page? Then you can use real words that will be easy to find. Like "Support Ukrainian Cats". | | | P.L.F. Persio Netherlands Local time: 05:40 Member (2010) English to Italian + ... Catimir Purrin | May 20, 2022 |

And, since his almost namesake is more of a dog person, that would serve him right. I just came up with Miss Catenko, which, I admit, is not a strong proposition as those other two. It was only a matter of time: let's start with posting cute cats pictures. Here's one from The Guardian, January 2018:

My suggestion for the counterpart, if they look for care for their conquered cats... | |

Like "Support Ukrainian Cats". I have already registered a page for my shelter, but in this case, due to facebook policies, I have to rely upon people looking me up rather than contacting them on my own initiative. And what I want is "cold acquisition" - looking up potential donors and contacting them. | | | koshenya hospice | May 20, 2022 |

I get the limitations of a so-called Facebook page, but breaking the Facebook rules by setting up a personal profile in a fake name does not inspire trust, and you need donors to trust you to make donations. A donor would want to know that there is an actual shelter behind this and that it's not just a scam profile or page. | | | Pages in topic: [1 2] > | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Fictional surname for cat shelter donation drive: suggestions needed Trados Studio 2022 Freelance | The leading translation software used by over 270,000 translators.
