A few months ago my Word started to prompt for Normal.dot when shutting down the computer. When I reopen Word there is a long list of Normal.dot -files which I could view or discard. In Options-advanced the box for Prompt before saving Normal.dot template is empty. What else could I do so that Word would kindly shut itself down as it did in the past?

Are you using the latest version (6.03t) of Wordfast Classic? If so, Wordfast may try to save its WfPopup style to your normal.dotm. This is the style it uses for formatting the AutoComplete dropdown list (and you can modify that style if you want to use your own set of preferences). Once Wordfast has been able to add the style to normal.dotm, Word won't ask you any more if you want to save it (unless you make changes to the style).

Before that I had been running older version for years. but the problem came up only a few months ago. Now I let Word save once the Normal.dot after closing WFC. Let's see if it helps.
