I want to test CT and start with a project I create exclusively for one of my end clients. Unfortunately, these files come as memsource files and contain integrated regular expressions I can easily collectively convert into codes in Deja Vu, but not yet in CT. Does anyone here have an idea where I can fix this in the settings? Thanks!

Hello Matthias,
either a round trip: Déjà Vu > XLIFF > CafeTran Espresso > Déjà Vu
Or you show some regular expressions and I'll help you with the tagging.

Thank you for your reply. I believe you already know the approach I apply within Deja Vu for memsource files (it was explained here one day in the DV forum):
... and I wish I knew a similar way for CT to deal with memsource files containing regular expressions (and without preparing them first in any other CAT). I tried it at several points under "settings" in CafeTran, but without success.

Feel free to send me an example file and, since I'm lazy, also the regular expression as editable text. And I'll try my best to come up with something.

| Non-translatables glossaries with hidden tags | Jun 3, 2022 |
Wow, your first test project and you jump immediately into the Deep(L)! Well, after all, in the summer you should swim.
Launch CafeTran Espresso.
Click on the Project Selector:
Scroll to the end of the project list and select:
You'll have to create a new, dedicated glossary for non-translatables. By adding '^' to the end of the entries, you instruct CafeTran Espresso to interpret the regular expressions as 'hidden tags'. This means:
- CafeTran Espresso will treat them as one tag, and protect it from editing.
- CafeTran Espresso will keep them out of the segments, if instructed so by this setting:
Add the following entries to your non-translatables glossary:
You can of course group them, like in the example you gave for Déjà Vu. This looks very savvy but normally it's not a good idea:
- It will be difficult to find errors.
- You cannot disable a specific regular expression temporarily.

You can duplicate the glossary entries with 'b' to entries with 'i' and 'u'.
