Hello,
I have a weird new problem as of today or yesterday since having updated to the newest release of Trados Studio 2022 version.
Since Day 1 of using Trados, I have my settings for auto-propagate in "File/Options..." set to autopropagate to *next* segments and to prompt me if there are segments translated differently and to autopropagate only 99 or 100% matches and to do so for confirmed matches.
What I expect from this and what has worked like I want it to forever is that... See more
Hello,
I have a weird new problem as of today or yesterday since having updated to the newest release of Trados Studio 2022 version.
Since Day 1 of using Trados, I have my settings for auto-propagate in "File/Options..." set to autopropagate to *next* segments and to prompt me if there are segments translated differently and to autopropagate only 99 or 100% matches and to do so for confirmed matches.
What I expect from this and what has worked like I want it to forever is that it does not autopropagate backward, meaning to previous segments.
NOW it is doing just that -- it must not do that. Sometimes the word "Seite" means "page" actually means "side" and I must see each of these and cannot re-check all previous segments like it.
I cannot find any discussions online for this -- does anyone know what I mean and/or does anyone have a solution?
Many thanks!!!!

See if this helps:

Do you have this option enabled?
"Auto-propagate exact matches to confirmed segments"
Try to uncheck it, and see if that works.
This should stop Trados from applying auto-propagation to previously confirmed segments, which might be causing the backward propagation issue.
If this solution doesn't work, I would contact RWS and report them the issue.

I do

Thanks, I do have that activated and actually need to have it on (I have always had it on) because the sentences repeat in the course of the file. Could it be something with the file itself? It had some other strange things. So strange

Recreate the file from scratch

If that strange behavior only occurs in that file, try recreating the project from scratch, by using the same TM and Auto-Propagation settings as before.
If this doesn't work either, inform your client that you are having those issues and ask them to send you a new version of the file.
