No, but I give spontaneous discounts when I feel like it. For example, if I feel there has been a lot of repetition, I might tell the client. But I won't have them foisted upon me by clients and agencies.

But actually, that is not how it is. Rather, I accept to give discount on repetitions and matches, if they are reasonable and everything else is fine.
If I should offer any spontaneously, it would only be for direct clients

Not term matching | Jun 28, 2016 |
I have a large job at the moment where the client's term list is very useful, but several of the terms do not fit every time - the source word is not always teh exact equivalent of the correct target word for the context.
On the other hand, there are quite a lot of segments that are repeated many times. 37% according to the analysis. They get discounts. | | | Parrot Ισπανία Local time: 22:15 Ισπανικά σε Αγγλικά + ...
I'm reading this to apply to terms, not TM segments.
The problem with counting isolated matching terms is the same as the one on untranslated proper names (yes, I ran into an agency that tried that one). The per-hour rate you pay a clerk to count them is more than what you could save. | | | Post removed: This post was hidden by a moderator or staff member for the following reason: Requested by user. | DZiW (X) Ουκρανία Αγγλικά σε Ρωσικά + ...
They just want to have their job (translation) done, so it has little to do with how I’ll do it--what software, utils/tools, whatever; only sound arguments and agreements matter.
As my CATed colleague used to say "Want a discount?--Give a bonus or Make a donation!")

Although I do accept some discounts 'imposed" by agencies, as long as the rate for new words are a bit above the average. Some documents have many tables and numbers, and some clients send us 50 identical forms filled out by different people, so it's only fair not to charge full price for this type of repetition.
